Yeehaw! The Vinod Sharan Foundation Saddles Up in Mesquite!

On August 4th, 2024, the families of the Vinod Sharan Foundation moseyed on down to Mesquite, Texas, for an unforgettable day at a traditional southern rodeo. For most of us, it was our first time experiencing the wild world of modern cowboys and cowgirls wrangling horses and bulls, and let me tell you—it didn’t disappoint!

We were on the edge of our seats (or boots!) as we watched skilled riders tackle saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, bareback riding, and the grand finale—bull riding. The crowd was fired up, and so were we, cheering for every fearless participant. And what’s a Texas rodeo without some mouthwatering BBQ? Yep, we enjoyed that too!

But the best part? After all the excitement, the children of the Vinod Sharan Foundation were awarded scholarships to support their future education. It was a heartwarming end to an action-packed day, leaving us with full hearts and a true southern experience we won’t soon forget!

Annual Easter Egg Hunt 2023

🌷 Spring is just around the corner…and so is the VSF Annual Easter Egg Hunt! 🪺

Come with your children to VSF’s longest-running event and enjoy:

🎈 Balloon art
🎯 Field day games
🥤 Food and soft drinks

Tickets are $10 a child. All proceeds go towards supporting children who have felt the loss of a parent.

The 2018 Vinod Sharan Foundation Easter Egg Hunt

Sounds of laughter and excitement filled the air for the 2018 Annual Vinod Sharan Foundation at Beaver’s Bend Park in Frisco, Texas.  Close to 80 people showed around 2pm on this sunny Saturday to raise money for a worthy cause.
The Easter egg hunt would display three competitive divisions for the kids; the top prize in the hunt for each division being the “Golden Egg” which featured gift certificates, chocolates and candy.
After the Easter egg hunt, President Leena Sharan spoke to those in attendance.  She let the crowd know of VSF future objectives and also thanked the many volunteers involved on this special day.  VSF has passionately raised over $20,000 since its inception for deserving children and families in the DFW area.
The day’s donation total would be more than expected, reaching an amazing sum of $3500.  The next VSF charity event will be the walkathon occurring on August 11that 8am in Frisco.  More details to come; please mark in your calendars.

2017 Vinod Sharan Foundation Holiday Party

​Holiday cheer, touching speeches and live music filled the air at this year’s 3rd Annual Vinod Sharan Foundation Holiday Party. Over 80 people would attend this Christmas-time event at the SPR Banquet Hall in Plano, TX. The large crowd would play a huge part in raising close to $10,000 for our charity on this exciting night.​

​VSF President Leena Sharan spoke to the large group in attendance and quickly celebrated the recent successes of the charity, but also emphasized the importance of growing our volunteer and selection committees moving forward. Parents of VSF children also made an appearance, talking to the audience about committing to this special cause which was very compelling to watch.

​The Group Therapy Band was on hand to perform its magic singing classic songs like “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder and “Don’t You Forget About Me” by Simple Minds. Silver Fox and Cool River handled the catering duties and they were superb in taste and variety.

The VSF holiday event was truly a wonderful presentation; for more news on VSF and award ceremonies, stay tuned for more email newsletters on the VSF schedule for 2018.
